Staff Alumni

Once on staff, always family.

“I thank my God every time I remember you.”

Where it all began

Dirt roads, two-tone cars & the same mountains

Clydehurst has been welcoming people up the Boulder since 1945. The cars have changed (a lot), but that road, those log cabins and that view up the valley would look familiar to anyone who has ever spent a summer here.

Wagon wheels & big hair

Bell-bottoms, perms & matching staff shirts

The hair got bigger, the staff got bigger, and the all-staff photo became a tradition. Striped rugby shirts, teal tees, a Rubik’s Cube in the lodge. Remember sitting on that old wagon, or piling onto the yellow bus?

Squirt guns & costumes

Rain or shine, always a little ridiculous

A muddy road never stopped a cowboy squirt-gun ambush, and an old red Chevy hauled plenty of staff up to Blue Lake on days off. Costume nights got more elaborate every year, and the staff shirts kept coming.

Face paint & overalls

Banjos, war paint & way too many selfies

Cameras moved into everyone’s pockets, so this decade is extremely well documented. Staff bands in overalls, green face paint, game days on the lawn, dressing up for the end-of-summer banquet on the deck.

A big birthday & inflatable dinosaurs

In 2020 the ranch celebrated its 75th summer, and the staff marked it in matching green. Since then it has been hayrides packed with family campers, waterfall hikes on days off, tug-of-war in onesies, and at least one stampede of inflatable dinosaurs.

Once staff, always family

Some summers last a lifetime

For a lot of alumni, a summer at Clydehurst was just the beginning. Friendships, marriages and whole families have grown out of time spent serving in this valley, and nothing makes us happier than seeing alumni come back in camp shirts with a few more people in tow.

Wherever life has taken you, you will always have a place here.

Since 1945

Still going strong

The faces keep changing, but the heart of it hasn’t: loving kids well, pointing them to Jesus, and having a ridiculous amount of fun along the way. Today’s staff are standing on the shoulders of every one of you.
